We are looking for a proactive and adaptable R2R Accountant to join our growing GBS Finance team in Shanghai.
About You
We’re recruiting R2R Accountant reporting to the R2R Team Lead, based in Shanghai.
You are responsible for Record-to-Report operational activities, and also for supporting finance integration, process transition, system collaboration, and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple entities within APAC region.
The ideal candidate should possess solid accounting knowledge, hands-on operational capability, and strong communication skills to work effectively with local finance teams, cross-functional stakeholders, and global shared service teams in a dynamic and evolving business environment.

What You’ll Be Doing
Record-to-Report Operations
- Perform month-end closing activities for assigned entities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and reporting
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations with proper supporting documentation
- Ensure financial data accuracy, completeness, and timely submission
- Support statutory, management, and internal reporting requirements
- Coordinate closely with AP, AR, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, and other finance functions during closing cycle
- Support external and internal audit activities and ensure compliance with internal control requirements
Multi-Entity & ERP Support
- Support accounting operations for multiple legal entities across APAC region
- Work within different ERP environments including SAP and Kingdee
- Ensure accounting treatments are aligned with group accounting policies and reporting standards
- Assist in resolving system and process-related issues during daily operations and closing activities
Integration, Transition & Continuous Improvement
- Participate in finance integration, migration, and transition projects
- Support standardization and optimization of R2R processes across entities
- Assist in establishing SOPs, workflows, and process documentation
- Collaborate with regional/global stakeholders on process alignment and operational improvements
- Identify process gaps, control risks, and improvement opportunities proactively
- Support transformation initiatives within GBS organization
Stakeholder Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with local finance teams, business stakeholders, and global shared service teams
- Coordinate with cross-functional departments to resolve operational and accounting issues
- Participate in workshops, project discussions, and process review meetings
- Provide professional and timely support to internal stakeholders in a fast-changing environment
Location
This role is assigned to operate in Shanghai, Xuhui District
What You’ll have
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; may be working towards a professional qualification.
- Minimum 4-8 years of experience in accounting/R2R/GL experience in multinational companies or SSC/GBS
- Able to converse (speak, read, write) in both English & Mandarin, a 3rd language (Japanese) is a big plus.
- Strong communication skills are required, as this role liaises with both the regional and global GSS teams and the local finance team.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and month-end closing processes
- Experience handling full-set accounting is preferred
- Experience in shared service center (SSC/GBS) environment is highly preferred
- Exposure to finance integration, migration, ERP implementation, or transition projects is a strong advantage
- Familiar with SAP; experience with Kingdee is a plus
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Able to work independently with strong ownership mindset
- Comfortable working in a dynamic and changing business environment
