Quandela, a leader in the development and commercialization of photonic quantum computers, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated expert in experimental quantum optics to join our Hardware team. As a Quantum Scientist, you will play a crucial role in advancing our photonic quantum computing platform. You will have the chance to collaborate within a diverse group of experts in the field and participate in the development of the next generation quantum processing units at Quandela.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize quantum optical systems and components for quantum computers based on single-photon manipulation.
  • Conduct experiments and characterize the performance of quantum optical devices, ensuring adherence to specifications and requirements.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists to integrate newly developed modules to the overall quantum computer architecture.
  • Work closely with software engineers to develop hardware-software interfaces for efficient control and operation of quantum optical systems.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in quantum optics and related technologies, contributing to the knowledge base within the organization.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Quantum Optics, or a related field, with a focus on quantum optics and photonics.
  • Proven experience in designing and developing quantum optical systems and components.
  • Solid understanding of quantum information science.
  • Strong programming skills, with experience in languages such as Python.
  • Experience with hardware-software integration and control of optical systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with a proven track record of working effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
