Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to assist the local business unit in developing the necessary capabilities to effectively control products and systems. Each day, you will ensure compliance with internal, customer, and industry requirements within a cost-effective and safe working environment. You will also showcase your expertise by participating in the development and implementation of standards and test methods to ensure only compliant products, software, and services are delivered to the customer.

The work model for the role is: #Li-Onsite

This role is contributing to the ABB India, Electrification Business Smart Power Division in India. will be based at “Nelamangala - Bangalore – India”.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Testing & Inspection Conduct incoming, in-process, final inspection, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) to ensure products, systems, and software meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.

  • Quality Assurance & Process Support Support supplier quality, production quality, testing, validation, and engineering activities by ensuring effective test methods, equipment performance, and process compliance.

  • Performance & Cost Optimization Develop and execute testing plans, establish performance baselines, optimize test cycle times, and ensure cost-effective testing operations while meeting quality and safety standards.

  • Quality Training & Risk Management Deliver quality-related training, promote a culture of quality and integrity, conduct risk assessments, and implement safe working practices across testing and production activities.

  • Equipment Start-up & Continuous Improvement Provide technical support during equipment commissioning and start-up, define corrective action plans, and train maintenance and production teams to enhance operational reliability and continuous improvement. order demand, specifications, quality, and planning targets through the coordination and management of plant equipment, personnel, and production processes (quantity, quality, budgeted costs, and proper productivity level).

Qualifications for the role:          

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience, with a minimum of 7 years in testing, validation, or power electronics.

  • Solid technical knowledge of UPS systems, power conditioning equipment, and high-power three-phase electrical applications.

  • Proficiency in interpreting electrical schematics, circuit diagrams, and PCBAs for testing, troubleshooting, and validation activities.

  • Experience using engineering tools and software such as AutoCAD, MATLAB, LabVIEW, and PCBA programming for product development and testing.

  • Skilled in the operation of electrical test equipment, including power analyzers, oscilloscopes, data acquisition systems, and other advanced diagnostic instruments.

  • Sound knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies, with the ability to support process optimization and operational excellence.

  • Well-developed communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to partner across teams and ensure alignment with engineering, quality, and safety standards.
