Who We’re Looking For

Hood Container Corporation is seeking a dedicated Quality Technician to join our team at our Chicago, IL facility. If you have a sharp eye for detail, a commitment to quality, and experience in a manufacturing environment, we want to hear from you!

The starting wage for this position is $20.00 per hour.

What You’ll Do

  • Verify all machine set-ups are accurate and aligned with customer specifications.

  • Maintain detailed and accurate records, especially caliper data for key customers.

  • Perform general clean-up and assist with machine start-ups.

  • Conduct basic troubleshooting and quality checks during production.

  • Operate within hot, humid, and high-noise environments while maintaining safety and efficiency.

  • Perform tape measure readings and document findings.

  • Support a high-volume production area by ensuring products meet quality standards.

  • Communicate effectively with team members and follow verbal and written instructions.

  • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and a proactive approach to solving problems.

  • Uphold safety protocols and organizational goals at all times.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

What You Bring

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum 6 consecutive months of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or warehouse setting.

  • Corrugator experience is a strong plus.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Ability to stand for up to 12 hours and lift as needed.

  • Comfortable working 12-hour shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.

  • Strong attention to detail with solid documentation skills.

  • Team-oriented with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn.

  • Able to read a tape measure and complete basic measurements accurately.

  • Self-motivated, safety-conscious, and reliable.
