Job Description
Reporting to the Quality Supervisor, the Quality Team Lead is involved in every aspect of the day-to-day Quality activities in the warehouse. The Quality Team Lead is the first point of contact for the Quality Auditors and Quality Clerks when they have questions regarding parts, audits, or any other issues affecting Quality. The Quality Team Lead will support Category Manager projects, ensuring all project actions are in line with quality and process standards. The Quality Lead will interact with suppliers on quality-related issues, inspecting parts and providing feedback. Finally, the Quality Team Lead will assist, and lead activities related to the upkeep and administration of the Quality Management System.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Quality Auditors and Clerks
- Provide day-to-day tactical leadership to hourly teammates to ensure KPIs and quality standards are met.
- Develop the team by focusing on individual performance and support requirements to achieve high standards while fostering a culture of working safety, team ship, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Responsible for training new teammates on the processes used to perform their jobs.
- Ensure that teammates have the required resources to be successful at their work
- Must know overall plant operations, processes, and interactions
- Part Support
- Assist Category Managers in part-related projects.
- Provide feedback to the Packaging Stat Coordinator regarding customer complaints and other quality issues related to packaging
- Review and approve Engineering Change Requests
- Set up and manage parts in REX
- Manage UPC and I2of5 database
- Administer the Parts Return Program and Prop 65 Label Program
- Site Lead for Teamcenter
- Must be able to read prints and Quality measuring devices
- ISO-9001 Quality Management System
- Attend and pass Internal Auditor or (and)Lead Auditor training (required to be at least Lead Auditor)
- Conduct routine departmental process audits and maintain the corrective action list
- Maintain KPI metrics and generate monthly and quarterly management reports
- Enter and track the status of customer complaints and customer surveys.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent
- Previous experience in a similar industry
- Has team leader skills with the ability to motivate and develop others.
- Is self-aware with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Engages interest and participation of others and has a collaborative approach to working with others.
- Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of not meeting deadlines/ cost of poor quality.
- Effective communicator at all levels within the organization
- Knowledge of operating systems and equipment used in each department.
- Basic understanding and experience with MS Office, to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Able to lift to 35 lbs.
- Able to Walk and/or stand for long periods of time.
- Able to bend at waist.
- Able reach above the shoulder level.
