JOB SUMMARY
The Quality Systems Engineer is responsible for assuring compliance to plant, corporation, customer, and industry standards. This position will be responsible for leading various quality systems including, but not limited to, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), internal and external auditing, and document control / change management.

JOB FUNCTIONS
Ensure Quality Management System (QMS) policies & procedures are maintained in accordance with customer requirements and AS9100. Applicable industry specifications.
Administrator of Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) system. Responsible for initial investigation, administering, and facilitating corrective action in accordance with Business Operating Procedure requirements.
Manage the Internal Audit program, and lead internal, customer, and 3rd party audits as required.
Obtain AS9100 Lead Auditor certification. Conduct audits to assure processes, systems, and products are compliant to company, industry, and customer requirements.
Provide training to employees on problem solving methodology (8D), internal audits, and AS9100 requirements.
Effectively communicate and reinforce commitment to quality systems and continuous improvement efforts.
Maintain, evaluate, and implement enhancements to the quality system or processes that result in improved quality performance, increased customer satisfaction, and/or simplification of processes to reduce costs, including tracking, analyzing, risk-based thinking, reporting, and problem solving.
Leads the team for document control/change management.
Maintain lines of communication with Suppliers. This includes verbal and written correspondence and audits as required.
Assist with the analysis of data and metrics, generate relevant reports and lead improvement initiatives, as directed.
Participate in the quality reporting and management review process.
Provide technical support to Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing and Sales.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing or quality management
3 - 5 years relevant experience
- This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
- Experience working with either ISO9001 or AS9100 QMS standards
- Knowledge and experience with quality tools, such as CAPA, six-sigma, lean manufacturing, PPAP, FMEA, problem solving techniques, root-cause-analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
Aerospace manufacturing experience
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
CQE
- Solid understanding of business practices and understanding the impact quality has to the organization
- Demonstrated leadership, organization and project management skills to lead cross functional teams and improvements
- AS9100/AS13100 Training
