WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
- Support the Quality Manager in maintaining site readiness for internal and external audits, including documentation review, training, and corrective action follow-up.
- Assist in implementing, maintaining, and improving the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring alignment with ISO requirements and corporate standards.
- Maintain quality procedures and work instructions ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with business requirements.
- Support management of CAPAs using tools such as 8D, 5-Why, and RCCM, including log maintenance, data collection, and verification of effectiveness.
- Supervise daily inspection activities for incoming, in-process, and final product to ensure adherence to specifications and customer requirements.
- Ensure appropriate measuring and test equipment is used; assist in overseeing calibration programs for inspection and test tools.
- Maintain nonconformance tracking, analysis, and reporting to identify improvement opportunities.
- Provide professional communication with customers as needed, supporting audits, issue resolution, and complaint investigations.
- Assist in maintaining supplier quality activities, including supplier assessments, incoming quality issues, and communication of expectations.
- Support structured RCA efforts in partnership with Engineers, Project Management and the Quality Manager, leveraging 5-Why, 8D, and other formal methods.
- Assist in Lean and quality improvement activities, including process control plan updates, SPC/charting activities, and defect prevention initiatives.
- Participate in daily Gemba walks and operational reviews to identify quality risks and improvement opportunities.
- Directly supervise Quality Technicians, ensuring proper staffing, training, development, and performance management.
- Train employees on QMS procedures, inspection methods, and quality standards; coach teams on adherence to process discipline.
- Promote a culture of Quality at the Source and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Planning to resolve issues and improve product performance.
- Provide support for data collection, product reviews, and process capability evaluations.
- High school diploma or GED required; additional technical schooling or pursuit of degree preferred.
- 4+ years of experience in quality roles within manufacturing environments.
- Experience with QMS, ISO standards, audit preparation, and quality procedures.
- Experience supervising or mentoring personnel preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints; GD&T knowledge strongly preferred.
- Proficient in use of precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills with ability to convey technical information across levels.
- Solid computer skills (MS Office, ERP/MRP systems).
