Role Overview
The Quality Supervisor plays a critical role in leading daily quality control and assurance activities to ensure products meet Nysonian standards and
customer expectations. This position oversees quality inspectors, supports problem-solving on the production floor, ensures compliance with procedures, and helps drive continuous improvement across all manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, supervise, and support quality inspectors across shifts.
- Assign tasks, evaluate performance, and ensure adherence to quality procedures.
- Coach and develop team members to strengthen technical capabilities and quality mindset.
- Ensure adequate shift coverage and staffing for inspection activities.
Quality Control & Assurance
- Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspections to ensure product compliance.
- Verify that materials, components, and finished goods meet specifications.
- Validate quality checks, sampling plans, and testing procedures.
- Support production teams in identifying, containing, and resolving defects.
- Maintain traceability and ensure proper documentation of inspection results.
Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions
- Lead investigations of non-conformities, deviations, and customer complaints.
- Coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with production, engineering, and supply chain.
- Manage rework, scrap, and product disposition processes.
- Track defect trends and collaborate with other departments on root cause elimination.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with internal quality standards, regulatory requirements, and safety rules.
- Maintain up-to-date standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and inspection records.
- Support internal and external audits (customer, certification, regulatory).
- Ensure proper use, calibration, and maintenance of measuring equipment and inspection tools.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve quality processes and product reliability.
- Lead or support initiatives involving Lean, 5S, Kaizen, or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Participate in cross-functional improvement projects focused on reducing defects and increasing efficiency.
- Support implementation of new testing methods, quality tools, or digital quality systems.
Reporting
- Track and report KPIs such as defect rates, scrap, rework, FPY, and audit findings.
- Prepare daily quality reports, NCR logs, and CAPA documentation.
- Present insights and recommendations to management.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field (preferred).
- 2–5 years of experience in quality supervision or quality engineering in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in inspection methods, measurement systems, and quality standards (ISO preferred).
Skills
- Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills (knowledge of root cause tools such as 5 Why, Ishikawa, etc.). Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and product specifications.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ERP/MES/Quality system experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of measurement tools (calipers, gauges, testing equipment).
