What you will do
- Take charge of Quality Control operations at our inspection cross dock, ensuring adherence to quality standards and procedures to deliver quality parts on time
- Supervise the Quality Control team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure accurate and efficient inspections.
- Conduct performance reviews with direct reports.
- Handle time off requests of direct reports and maintain time keeping records.
- Perform intensive inspections on high-risk orders, ensuring compliance with quality requirements and specifications.
- Resolve nonconforming parts by coordinating with manufacturing Partners, Logistics, and Customer Success teams for rework or back-shipping.
- Monitor inspection metrics and Manufacturing Partners' quality performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Improve Manufacturing Partners' quality management by updating defect books, partner guides, and conducting regular touch base meetings with Supply Chain Managers, support & perform supplier audits.
- Support internal audits.
- Enhance existing inspection procedures and workflows, including escalation rules, to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
- Demonstrate an energetic and proactive approach to quality control, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Foster a team-oriented mindset, promoting collaboration and a belief in winning together.
- Align quality requirements and inspection processes with in-market inspection teams to ensure consistency and alignment.
- Work closely with the logistics team to ensure the efficiency of the cross docking process.
- Provide hands-on support with Quality Management Systems by creating and updating procedures to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
- Utilize experience in Quality Control within CNC/SM/3DP/IM-related industries in a regulated industry (ISO/AS/IATF, etc.) to ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations.cC
What it takes
- Technical degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years of experience working within a quality system
- 2+ years of supervision experience or demonstrated leadership experience
- Experience with training employees
- Experience with CNC/IM/Sheet Metal/3DP
- Experience with problem solving and lean manufacturing
- Proficiency in GD&T
- Familiar with ISO 9001 (AS9100, ISO 13485, IATF 16949 experience is a big plus)
- Familiar with Quality systems and practices and continuous improvement concepts
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment
- Ability to lead a team, address inter-personal issues, motivate and inspire high performance, lead change
- Good written and oral communication skills: able to communicate complex information to all levels of the organization.
