Job DescriptionRegulatory Compliance & Contaminant Control
- Conduct testing, monitoring, and verification of food safety contaminants in accordance with customer requirements and international regulations, particularly European Union (EU) standards.
- Support quality assurance activities related to contaminants including 3-MCPD, Glycidyl Esters (GE), MOSH/MOAH, pesticide residues, heavy metals, mycotoxins, and other food safety risks.
- Review and interpret laboratory reports from internal and external accredited laboratories to ensure compliance with applicable specifications and regulatory limits.
- Monitor contaminant trends and identify potential risks affecting product safety, quality, and market access.
- Coordinate with Production, Procurement, and Quality Assurance teams to ensure implementation of contaminant reduction and mitigation programs.
- Support customer audits, certification audits, and regulatory inspections related to food safety and contaminant management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (S1) or Diploma (D3) in Food Technology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Microbiology, Agriculture, or related disciplines.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Quality Control, Food Safety, Laboratory Analysis, or related functions within food manufacturing, edible oils, coffee, feed, or agricultural industries.
- Familiarity with international food safety standards including GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, and Codex requirements.
- Experience in handling export-oriented products and understanding customer quality requirements for international markets is preferred.
- Knowledge of contaminant monitoring and control including 3-MCPD, Glycidyl Esters (GE), MOSH/MOAH, pesticide residues, heavy metals, and mycotoxins is highly desirable.
Technical Competencies
- Strong understanding of food safety, quality assurance, and laboratory testing methodologies.
- Knowledge of analytical techniques such as GC-MS, GC-FID, HPLC, LC-MS/MS, or interpretation of accredited laboratory test reports.
- Understanding of European Union food safety regulations and contaminant limits, particularly for vegetable oils, coffee products, grains, and feed ingredients.
- Ability to evaluate and interpret results related to:
- 3-MCPD and Glycidyl Esters (GE)
- MOSH (Mineral Oil Saturated Hydrocarbons)
- MOAH (Mineral Oil Aromatic Hydrocarbons)
- Pesticide Residues
- Heavy Metals
- Mycotoxins
- Process Contaminants
- Knowledge of traceability systems, root cause analysis, and CAPA implementation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
Preferred Experience (European Market Focus)
- Experience supporting products intended for export to the European Union (EU) market.
- Familiarity with EU regulations and customer requirements regarding low-contaminant products.
- Experience participating in contaminant reduction programs and supplier quality verification to achieve Low Contaminant Standards for international customers.
- Understanding of risk assessment and mitigation strategies related to contaminant formation during sourcing, processing, storage, and transportation.

Skills Required
