Job DescriptionOperations Graduate – Quality & Site Optimisation
WM New Zealand Dairy Flat, Auckland
Kickstart your operations career with New Zealand's leading resource recovery and waste business. This is a genuine development role to the Regional Manager — a broad, hands-on grounding across our landfill and transfer station operations, with a clear path toward an operational or site leadership role over time.
You won't be watching from the sidelines. From day one you'll be working across real projects, improving how our sites run, turning data into decisions, tidying up systems and processes, and helping deliver improvements that make a measurable difference.
What you'll get into
- Supporting operational improvement across multiple sites, using Lean and structured problem-solving
- Building dashboards and reporting that give leaders a clear view of performance
- Helping standardise and simplify systems, processes and the technology behind them
- Supporting improvement projects from ideas through to delivery
- Working alongside site managers and deputising for the Regional Manager on defined tasks
What we're after
- A recent tertiary qualification (operations, engineering, business, environmental or similar)
- Up to two years' operational or related experience, early career is fine, including internships or part-time
- Strong analytical head and solid Microsoft skills
- A genuine appetite to learn, get hands-on, and take on more over time
- Happy to move between sites and get out into the operation
