Quality Senior Principal Engineer (Supportability)

In addition to participating in the review of engineering designs, we assist customers or engineers in gathering and analyzing data.

What you’ll achieve
As a Quality Senior Principal Engineer (Supportability), you will be responsible for the quality performance of assigned platforms within the PowerEdge LOB through data analysis, dispatch profiling, working with other core team functions for root cause investigation and containment of possible issues. Direct interfacing with customers is likely in this role.
You will:

  • Collaborate with external and internal Enterprise partners to drive continuous and measurable improvements in product and process.

  • Monitor field performance of systems shipped in the PowerEdge liquid cooling portfolio to identify issues and allow for early investigation and mitigation.

  • Assist investigation, capture root cause failure analysis, lead containment and corrective actions, and document lessons learned to prevent issue recurrence.

  • Act as liaison between engineering, quality and services to improve in field performance by increasing reliability and implementing fixes for shipped systems.

  • Prepare detailed documentation for implementation of fixes for both hardware and software related items on liquid cooling systems.

Essential Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree in Engineering field (electrical, mechanical, systems, computer) with 8+ years of related experience or MS degree with 4+ years of related experience.

  • Experience and knowledge of servers and related equipment, AI server knowledge is a plus.

  • Strong computer skills (Excel proficiency required, VBA and SQL aptitude a plus).

  • Strong data analysis skills, statistical knowledge a plus.

  • Ability to work effectively with global team members.

  • Strong communication, leadership, project management, and change management skills.

  • Working knowledge of quality methodologies, including 6 sigma, lean, 8 disciplines, closed loop corrective actions, etc.

Desirable Requirements

  • Advanced understanding of AI system architecture and liquid cooling systems.

  • Advanced understanding of statistics and data analytics.

  • Experience utilizing Machine Learning, statistical modeling, or pattern recognition for predictive failure analysis and anomaly detection. 

Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $147,900.00 - $191,400.00
