About Radiant

Radiant is an El Segundo, CA-based startup building the world’s first mass-produced, portable nuclear microreactors. The company’s first reactor, Kaleidos, is a 1-megawatt, fail-safe microreactor that can be transported anywhere power is needed and run for up to 5 years without refueling. Portable nuclear power with rapid-deploy capability can replace similar-sized diesel generators and provide critical asset support for hospitals, data centers, remote sites, and military bases. Radiant’s unique, practical approach to nuclear development leverages modern software engineering to rapidly deliver safe, factory-built microreactors that use existing, well-qualified materials. Founded in 2020, Radiant is on track to test its first reactor at the Idaho National Laboratory this summer, with initial customer deliveries beginning in 2028.

The Role

We are looking for a Quality Operations Specialist to help run, sustain, and continuously improve Radiant’s Quality program as we scale. You will work across the Quality organization to keep key processes moving, maintain the systems and information behind them, and help ensure our programs remain effective in day-to-day execution.

This is a hands-on execution role with broad exposure across the Quality program. You will support recurring Quality activities, maintain operating infrastructure, improve document and information practices, and help close the gaps that create friction or compliance risk. You will work closely with Reliability & Quality Engineers and other program owners to support implementation and sustainment of Quality processes across the business.

You will also help develop Radiant’s Quality Intelligence capability by improving data integrity, centralizing Quality information, building dashboards and reporting, and making program performance easier to understand and act on. Your scope will evolve with the needs of the Quality program, giving you the opportunity to develop deeper technical expertise and take on increasing ownership over time.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Support and sustain Quality program execution by coordinating recurring activities, records, actions, and operational controls needed to keep programs effective.

  • Maintain Quality operating infrastructure including templates, workflows, tools, systems, program documentation, and supporting information.

  • Standardize document and information management by maintaining templates, release and revision workflows, document structures, and controlled information practices.

  • Maintain Quality data integrity by monitoring and reconciling critical Quality attributes, classifications, and configuration data across business systems.

  • Build Quality Intelligence by centralizing data, developing dashboards and metrics, improving reporting, and surfacing trends or gaps requiring action.

  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying recurring friction, manual work, weak handoffs, and opportunities to improve established Quality processes.

  • Support implementation and sustainment of new or revised Quality processes in partnership with Quality Engineers and program owners.

  • Monitor Quality program health by maintaining visibility into execution, records, open actions, compliance status, and areas requiring follow-up.

  • Support evolving Quality priorities by stepping into operational, process, data, or compliance activities as program needs change.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and other teams to keep Quality processes practical, accurate, and scalable.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in Quality, manufacturing, operations, engineering support, business systems, or a related environment

  • Strong ability to take ambiguous or disorganized work and create structure

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to consistently drive work to closure

  • Comfortable working with data, spreadsheets, reporting, and business systems

  • Strong written communication skills and ability to create clear process documentation, templates, and workflows

  • Ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams

  • Ability to learn new processes and systems quickly and operate with increasing independence

Desired Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience supporting or improving Quality programs, operational processes, or business systems

  • Experience with document control, records, configuration management, or controlled information

  • Experience with dashboards, metrics, reporting, or data visualization

  • Familiarity with tools such as Excel, Power BI, SQL, Confluence, PLM, ERP, or QMS platforms

  • Exposure to aerospace, nuclear, defense, energy, medical device, or another high-reliability industry

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, NQA-1, or another formal Quality Management System

  • Experience improving or automating an existing process

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field

Who You Are:

  • You take ownership and make sure work gets finished, not just handed off.

  • You are comfortable getting into the details needed to keep a process or program running well.

  • You naturally bring structure to messy information, processes, and systems.

  • You think beyond the immediate task and look for ways to make recurring work simpler and more reliable.

  • You are analytical and curious about what the data is telling you.

  • You communicate clearly and work well with engineers, operators, and business teams.

  • You are comfortable stepping into unfamiliar areas, learning quickly, and figuring out what needs to happen next.

  • You care about rigor, but you do not assume more process always means better Quality.

  • You want broad exposure and the opportunity to grow into deeper Quality Engineering, Reliability, or program ownership.

  • You care about the mission and the role Quality plays in safely scaling advanced reactor production.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as necessary to accomplish our mission.

  • Must work 100% onsite at El Segundo HQ.
