Quality Manager
Home base: Texas | 40% travel to Cincinnati, Ohio site
We are hiring a hands on Quality Manager who knows how to lead people on the shop floor, prevent defects before they happen, and partner with Operations to keep production moving without sacrificing quality.
This role owns product quality across fabrication, assembly, and glazing operations for curtainwall manufacturing. You will lead a team of Quality Techs and Inspectors at our Cincinnati facility while being based in Texas, traveling regularly to stay connected to the floor, the people, and the work.
If you come from construction related manufacturing, metals, glass, automotive, aerospace, or another precision fabrication environment, this will feel very familiar.
This is not a desk quality role. This is a visible leadership role on the floor and part of the site leadership team.
What you will own
- Overall site quality performance for fabrication, assembly, and glazing
- Leadership and daily direction of Quality Techs and Inspectors
- Reducing rework, scrap, and nonconformances through strong process control
- Ensuring compliance to drawings, tolerances, finishes, and customer specifications
- Acting as the key quality partner to Operations, Engineering, and Field teams
- Managing and sustaining the site Quality Assurance and Quality Control plan
- Leading quality metrics, audits, and continuous improvement activity
- Supporting project launch by translating drawings into clear quality expectations
- Participating in customer and consultant inspections and quality reviews
- Driving root cause analysis and corrective actions for repeat issues
- Ensuring inspection equipment calibration and layered process audits are followed
What makes someone successful here
- You have led people in a manufacturing quality environment, not just performed inspections
- You are comfortable living on the shop floor and being the person Operations calls when there is a problem
- You confidently read engineering drawings and understand GD&T
- You understand mechanical inspection methods, tolerances, and finishes
- You come from a fabrication heavy, precision environment where details matter
- You have worked within ISO 9001 or a structured QMS
- You use data like First Pass Yield, defect trends, and control charts to drive action
- You have used Lean, Six Sigma, A3, or similar tools to eliminate repeat defects
- You know how to train, coach, and develop quality technicians
Background we are looking for
- 5 or more years in manufacturing quality
- 2 or more years leading quality teams of multiple inspectors or techs
- Experience in curtainwall, façade, metals, glass, automotive, aerospace, or engineer to order manufacturing
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
- Degree in Engineering or Quality is helpful, but practical experience is equally valued
Travel and location
This role is based in Texas and requires approximately 40% travel to our Cincinnati, Ohio manufacturing site. Travel is consistent and planned so you can stay engaged with the team and the operation.
Why this role matters
