Position Summary

The Quality Engineer – Aertssen Operations ensures that all machines assembled or inspected at Aertssen meet JLG’s quality standards and customer requirements. This role serves as the main quality interface between JLG and Aertssen, ensuring compliance with JLG Quality Acceptance Criteria (QAC) and driving continuous improvement in subcontracted operations.

Key Responsibilities

Product Quality

  • Ensure Aertssen’s assembly and PDI activities comply with JLG Quality Acceptance Criteria (QAC).
  • Conduct inspections and audits at various process stages (incoming, in-process, and final).
  • Approve final quality checks and authorize green tag release.
  • Lead issue resolution for nonconformities and track Out-of-the-Box (OTB) performance.

Process Compliance

  • Verify adherence to JLG’s quality standards and certification processes.
  • Maintain testing and inspection documentation (logbooks, compliance forms, certificates).
  • Oversee end-of-line and stability testing for assembled machines.
  • Perform process audits and follow up on corrective actions.

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead quality improvement and problem-solving initiatives (8D, PDCA).
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Supplier Quality to improve processes.
  • Provide feedback and training on quality procedures where needed.

Communication

  • Report quality performance, issues, and progress to the ………..
  • Support regular reviews with Aertssen to drive performance improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or assembly quality.
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, auditing, and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent in English; Dutch or French is a plus.
  • Willing to travel occasionally.
