Job DescriptionSummary of Position
The Quality Manager is responsible for leading the Quality Department by using daily Continuous Improvement Processes to develop themselves, employees and support the Lean Production System by using problem solving routines using Plan-Do-Check-Act.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the quality control of all raw materials, products and process in cooperation and collaboration with operation management team
- Manage all Quality staff
- Lead, coach and train the staff and other teams as required
- Implement and manage systems to complete statistical analyses and control of all products including raw materials, WIP materials, non-conforming products, and finished goods
- Implement and manage the statistical analyses and controls of all production equipment and process
- Implement and manage document control procedures
- Propose, promote and champion actions to improve quality, processes and product
- Manage the relationships with customers and suppliers regarding problems inherent to all items and non-conformance
- Maintain contacts with relevant technical centers and research organizations that deal with developing new tools of analysis and new product standards
- Participate in the selection of strategic suppliers for standard product supply as well as research and development activities
- Ensure customer requirements are met
- Working with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers
- Ensure that production processes meet international and national standards
- Devise ways to reduce waste and increase efficiency
- Determine departmental needs, establishing budgets/costs associated with needs and presenting proposal to fulfill
- Manage and maintain QMS
- Contribute to the competitiveness of the organization
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
- Perform other duties and tasks as required

- Knowledge of all PV related certification including but not limited to; UL1703, IEC 61215, IEC61730-1, IEC61730- 2
- Knowledge in working with Lean Manufacturing/JIT, Six Sigma methodologies and Total Quality fundamentals
- Knowledge of SPC/FMEA
- Knowledge of reading Blueprint/GD&T drawings

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelors Degree related to manufacturing or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years in Quality Assurance
- 5 years in PV manufacturing or another PV-related field, preferred
- 5 years in Supervision/Management preferred
