Job Description

The Manufacturing Quality Manager communicates a clear, cohesive message to site manufacturing personnel focusing on customer satisfaction and process improvement. The Manager develops, implements, maintains and audits site specific operations requirements of the corporate Quality Management System to ensure all processes and products are in compliance with code, accreditation, certification and customer requirements. They drive problem solving and continuous improvement activities and develop and maintain strong relationships with company brands, customers, auditors, vendors and facility employees and management to be able to react to their needs and address issues which may arise.

  • Collect, analyze and interpret manufacturing data related to operator and process quality performance, and facilitate improvements to build capacity within manufacturing processes, using leading and lagging indicators
  • Audit manufacturing areas for adherence to company procedures and standards as well as applicable industry codes and standards: I.E. ISA AC-472, CSA A660, CSA W47.1, FM, UL etc.
  • Track results of audits and required corrective actions 
  • Assist other departments to meet responsibilities related to customer requirements and quality performance and build capacity within the processes 
  • Develop and maintain process focused training programs especially in the areas related to welding processes 
  • Strong background in welding; certification as a welding inspector (CWI) if not CWI, must be willing to obtain within first year of employment.
  • Proven experience in quality management, ideally within the metal mechanics industry. 
  • Perform root cause analysis of issues and implement successful corrective actions. 
  • Maintain a system for tracking customer communication, concerns, and corrective actions (voice of the customer) 
  • Review and maintain quality records as required by applicable procedures and standards 
  • Direct third-party inspections as required to meet contractual and standards requirements 
  • Perform regular safety audits and exhibit felt leadership

Qualifications

Education & Experience Qualifications

Minimum:

  • · High School diploma or equivalent
  • · 5 years of quality systems experience

Preferred:

  • · Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a manufacturing discipline
  • · 3 years of manufacturing experience, preferably with Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) and/or Submerged Arc Welding (SAW)
  • Strong knowledge of steel manufacturing processes and industry standards 


Additional Information

Compensation range: $72,160.00-$108,240.00
