The Quality Manager plans and manages activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality management system (QMS) for manufacturing and finishing processes, materials, and products.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage, train, provide performance feedback and assign duties of direct reports to ensure productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Develop quality control plans for new product development and introduction and manage the quality assurance aspects of current product adhering to company policies.
  • Lead team responsible for analyzing defect data and implementing improvement initiatives to ensure quality. And reduce costs.
  • Manage and coordinate activities associated with development and implementation of quality system elements.
  • Provide oversight of the manufacture of products through product and process audits to ensure that engineering documentation and standards are consistent with manufacturing methods used to produce the products.
  • Initiate, follow-up on, and close pending Preventive and Corrective Action reports including leading/supporting investigation and response by cross functional team members.
  • Support the QMS to meeting specifications within the Management Operating System (MOS).

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or related field.
  • 3 years quality field experience including management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in ISO based or equivalent quality systems.
  • Fundamental knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma processes.
  • Proficient computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated successful ability to build positive partnerships and work collaboratively with cross-functional business teams.
  • Demonstrated successful ability to prioritize and multi-task various and conflicting responsibilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • MBA.
  • Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) processes and/or Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification or comparable problem solving certification.
  • Quality Auditor certification (ASQ CQA), Quality Engineer certification (ASQ CQE), or Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence certification (ASQ CQMOE).
