SVA is looking for a Quality Manager to join our CPA practice in Madison, Wisconsin. This is an opportunity to step into a highly visible role that influences how our assurance teams work, learn, and deliver exceptional service to clients.

Working closely with our Director of Quality Management and Assurance Service Line Leader, you'll help strengthen our firm's quality management practices, perform engagement quality reviews, guide teams through complex accounting and auditing matters, and help translate evolving professional standards into practical resources our people can use.

What You'll DoBe a Trusted Quality & Technical Resource
  • Perform Engagement Quality Reviews for assurance engagements, with particular emphasis on engagements performed under Government Auditing Standards, including HUD, USDA-RD, and Single Audits.
  • Research complex accounting and auditing matters and provide clear, practical guidance to assurance professionals.
  • Monitor new accounting and auditing standards and help determine how changes should be implemented across the firm.
  • Support the firm's ongoing compliance with GAGAS/Yellow Book requirements.
  • Serve as a Qualified Reviewer or Assurance Manager on client engagements as needed and as capacity allows.
Strengthen How We Deliver Assurance Services
  • Partner with the Director of Quality Management to implement and maintain the firm's Quality Management Policies and Procedures (QMPP).
  • Help plan and execute internal inspections and external peer reviews, including documentation and follow-up.
  • Identify opportunities to improve assurance quality, consistency, and efficiency.
  • Help develop and maintain practice aids, tools, templates, and other resources that make it easier for our teams to do great work.
Build Knowledge Across the Practice
  • Help maintain and enhance SVA's Assurance Resources library, intranet, and Teams resources.
  • Translate technical standards into practical information that assurance teams can understand and apply.
  • Participate in and lead internal training and development initiatives.
  • Contribute to CPE programming and SVA's annual Accounting & Auditing Update.
  • Serve as an accessible technical resource and thought partner for assurance professionals across the firm.
What We're Looking For

You'll be successful in this role if you bring:

  • CPA license required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related business field; master's degree preferred
  • 7+ years of audit experience in public accounting
  • Strong knowledge of audit methodology, documentation, and engagement review
  • Experience with Government Auditing Standards and Single Audits strongly preferred
  • Ability to research and interpret complex accounting and auditing guidance
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to make technical concepts understandable
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to professional ethics and quality
  • Ability to prioritize competing responsibilities and meet deadlines
  • A collaborative mindset and genuine interest in helping other professionals grow and succeed
  • Comfort working independently while partnering closely with assurance leaders and engagement teams

Where You'll Work

Occasional travel to other SVA offices may be required.
