Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Supervise and directs the efforts of the Quality Control Department.
  • Schedule work assignments, assign tasks, train new employees and demonstrate proper operation of equipment. Observe work as it is performed to ensure it is done properly and safely.
  • Responsible for assuring Quality Control Technicians are properly trained in all inspection equipment, techniques, and procedures.
  • Responsible for maintaining efficient workflow, work assignments and throughput standards.
  • Confer with supervisors from other departments to coordinate operations and activities and meets with managers or subordinates to resolve issues.
  • Responsible for interfacing with all departments and coordinating MRB efforts.
  • Review, and coordinate intradepartmental approval of internal generated nonconformance reports and deviations, maintain log of same.
  • Responsible for assuring the integrity and completeness of Device History Files
  • Responsible for identifying the tool and equipment needs of the inspection department to properly and adequately perform tests and inspections required by current and new products along with reporting those needs to Quality Control Management. 
  • Responsible for the review and approval of inspection SOPs and quality system documents that pertain to the Quality Control function.
  • Evaluate employees through performance reviews.
  • Establish and refine business processes to improve the customer experience and solve problems

Education and/or Experience

·     High School diploma or equivalent required

·     Associate degree in related field (preferred) or equivalent years of experience

·     At least 5 years’ experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance positions required.

·     Two years or more of supervision preferred.

·     Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements.

·       Good interpersonal skills and phone etiquette.

·       Demonstrates the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Industry-Wide Technical Competencies

  • Knowledge of testing equipment and applicable national standards relating to testing (i.e. ASTM standards, etc.). Familiarity in operating all test and inspection equipment used in Quality Control. Familiarity with applicable federal, military, FDA, ISO and EN specifications.
  • Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • PC Literacy, Windows, Microsoft Office Software along with Alpha Manufacturing & Design software programs, i.e., E2 and Inspection Expert
