General Purpose of the Job

Quality Management Services – Facilitate Agency's Quality Management of State, Local and Federal regulatory compliance; provide support and assistance to each program in implementation of recommendations

Assist in the coordination of the Quality Improvement program within each of the departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Conduct investigations for all programs by interviewing staff, reviewing documentation, completing investigation reports, inputting required information into statewide databases within required timeframes, ensuring documentation of recommendations is received and closing investigations in compliance with regulations;
  2. Coordinate and ensure timely completion of investigations performed by agency and contracted investigators;
  3. Work a flexible schedule based on investigatory needs and provide rotating on-call coverage for incident response.
  4. Maintain up to date knowledge of OPWDD regulations, along with other Federal and State regulations, requirements, standards, and policies;
  5. Perform regularly scheduled internal reviews to ensure regulatory compliance, oversee and monitor implementation of plans of corrective action;
  6. Collect, analyze, interpret and document information to support audit/documentation review findings;  Maintain agency records of all programmatic reviews/audits/incidents;
  7. Maintain strict confidentiality;
  8. Provide assistance to individual programs to analyze and resolve identified problems;
  9. Facilitate and ensure all proper documentation is present for external audits;
  10. Facilitate Agency’s Quality Management for compliance with Local, State and Federal regulatory systems, reviews quality assurance standards, studies existing policies and procedures for effectiveness of quality assurance program;
  11. Participation in Agency’s Incident Review, Human Rights, and Research Project Proposal Committees;
  12. Coordinate and Assist Human Resources with Agency Personnel background checks, Suspect/Target and SCR information
  13. Attend agency/outside meetings/groups as needed to implement essential job functions
  14. Attend internal/outside meetings for Agency special projects, as well as oversee related field activities

    Supervisory Responsibilities      

    Coordinates and ensures timely completion of investigations performed by agency and contracted investigators.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience                                                   

Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) in related area plus 5 years OPWDD experience.


Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Minimum 5 years OPWDD experience
  • Knowledge of OPWDD, State and Federal regulations, standards, and policies
  • Experience conducting investigations, interviewing staff, reviewing documentation, and writing investigation reports
  • Ability to input required information into statewide databases and close investigations within required timeframes
  • Experience performing internal reviews, auditing, monitoring corrective action implementation, and maintaining program records
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and participate on Incident Review, Human Rights, and Research Proposal committees
  • Flexible schedule with rotating on-call coverage and ability to attend/oversee field activities and outside meetings as needed
