Overview
The Quality Manager is responsible for plant Quality and Laboratory activities, including ISO 9001 compliance, supplier quality, certification audits, and oversight of a 24/7 laboratory team. This role relies on sound judgment, effective communication, and the ability to coordinate work across teams and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the Quality/Lab team, including a Lab Supervisor and eight rotating‑shift lab technicians.
Support plant initiatives with practical quality guidance and technical input.
Work with suppliers on qualification, issue resolution, and ongoing quality expectations.
Maintain the Quality Management System (ISO 9001:2015), including audits, document control, KPIs, and Management of Change.
Direct customer and supplier complaint investigations and follow‑up actions.
Coordinate certification audits (Kosher, Product Safety, NSF).
Promote safe work practices and adherence to regulatory and site requirements.
Manage the Quality department budget and resources.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a science‑related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of leadership experience in quality, laboratory, or manufacturing environments
Strong communication and team‑coordination skills
Background in a manufacturing or chemical setting
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or substantial chemistry‑related experience
Experience working with suppliers or vendors on quality issues
Experience developing and supporting teams with varied technical backgrounds
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Office environment with routine visits to production areas
Standard business hours; occasional after‑hours phone support as needed
Frequent walking and standing; occasional bending, ladder climbing, gowning, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

The expected compensation range for this position is between $93,530.00 and $155,890.00 plus discretionary bonuses. The exact compensation may vary based on your skills, experience and other factors permitted by law.Similar Jobs
