What You’ll Do
- Build, document, and continuously improve Machina’s Quality Management System in alignment with AS9100D and ISO 9001.
- Prepare and lead internal/external audits; manage findings, corrective actions, and preventive improvements.
- Drive root-cause analysis (RCCA), CAPA, and FMEA processes to eliminate recurring defects and ensure product reliability.
- Develop and maintain procedures for incoming, in-process, and final inspection.
- Manage supplier quality: conduct audits, establish Approved Supplier Lists, and monitor vendor performance.
- Lead MRB and nonconformance investigations; facilitate timely disposition of material.
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement.
- Serve as the point person for quality training, awareness, and metrics reporting.
- Support customer and certification audits as Machina scales.
What You Bring
- B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or related discipline).
- 5+ years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, or Supplier Quality Engineering within aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of AS9100/ISO 9001 standards and audit processes.
- Demonstrated experience with RCCA, CAPA, and Lean/Six Sigma tools.
- Proficiency with inspection methods, GD&T, PPAP/FAI, SPC, and risk-based thinking.
- Hands-on approach with excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Passion for building systems, not just maintaining them—a self-starter who thrives in a fast-moving environment.
Bonus Points For
- Experience in a quality manager/engineer role at an AS9100 Certified facility.
- Managed or participated in the certification process of a facility from a registrar to a recognized specification (ISO, AS9100, NADCAP, etc.).
- Prior participation in lean, safety, and compliance activities.
- Authored and/or revised technical documents (i.e. quality procedures, work instructions, process specifications, RCCA investigations, technical reports, etc.).
