POSITION: Quality Shift Lead
PAY RATE: Hourly Grade 4

Purpose and role of job:
To lead a team of Quality Control Technicians and perform routine Quality inspection protocols on a shift basis. The candidate will be the primary point of reference for all quality decisions and will report directly to the site Quality Operations Leader. Working closely with the Production and Warehouse Leads, the Quality Lead will be responsible for working in a safe manner to ensure the effective and efficient performance of quality responsibilities as prescribed for the Quality Control Technicians.
Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all Safe Work Practices (SWP) and organizational policies and procedures. Must abide by all safety requirements and attain safety goals.
- Perform job functions in a safe manner. Maintain housekeeping and identify safety issues to ensure a safe work environment.
- Act as single-point contact by communicating effectively and appropriately with groups and individuals that interface with his/her team and department.
- Provide on-shift direction-setting and leadership for his/her team, to include leading team meetings, team staffing, vacation coverage, and priority setting.
- Collaborate closely with Production and Warehouse Leads to realize positive business outcomes
- Provide decisions and direction on quality matters, especially out of hours.
- Prepare shift reports as required by the site Quality operations Leader
- Perform all duties prescribed in the job descriptions for Quality Control Technicians
- Input data into electronic records, including trial and validation results, product inspection results, and information pertaining to non-conformances.
- Provide assistance when needed in identifying and isolating defective raw materials or finished goods.
- Complete special assignments as delegated by the site Quality Operations Leader.
- Interpret Company standards and policies to team members, and relay team members’ issues to the site Quality operations Leader
- Assess skills and provide input on performance reviews for his/her team.
- Develop and conduct training in conjunction with the site Quality operations Leader.
- Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.
