Job Description

The Qualification Laboratory Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of the qualification laboratory in Chongqing. This role ensures that the automotive parts and components are tested and validated according to industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines. The manager leads a team of laboratory technicians and engineers, coordinates testing schedules, and supports new product development by providing technical expertise in laboratory testing and validation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the overall operation of the qualification laboratory, including resource allocation, workflow planning, and equipment maintenance.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor laboratory procedures to ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025, IATF 16949, and other relevant standards.
  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate laboratory staff, providing training and professional development opportunities.
  • Coordinate and schedule testing of automotive parts and materials, including mechanical, electrical, and environmental tests.
  • Review and approve test reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery to internal and external customers.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Quality, and Production teams to support new product introduction and process improvements.
  • Ensure laboratory safety protocols are established and strictly followed.
  • Manage laboratory budget, including procurement of equipment and consumables.
  • Represent the laboratory during customer audits and external assessments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a laboratory setting, preferably within the automotive industry.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory quality management systems and standards (ISO/IEC 17025, IATF 16949).
  • Experience with automotive component testing methods and equipment.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in English and Mandarin Chinese, both written and spoken.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
