We're looking for someone to join our team as a Quality Improvement Specialist-BH who:

Under the general supervision of Quality Improvement Manager, is responsible for coordinating required staff trainings, as well as maintaining site compliance within the contract standards in Kern County.  This staff member provides support to the clinical managers at each site and is responsible for reporting on essential data, such as productivity, timeliness of service documentation, and basic chart auditing. 

Essential Functions:


Quality (For BH Sites)
  1. Organize and provide summary reports that alert the BH Quality Improvement Manager and the Clinical Manager to upcoming chart compliance requirements.
  2. Ensure compliance with regulatory notices, safety practices and environment of care standards.
  3. Conduct quality control test calls to assess veracity and quality of service claims.
  4. Conduct internal audits of charts to ensure compliance with State (DHCS) standards, as well as county contract standards.
  5. Master use of the most current EHR to which they are assigned; create templates to pull required data for monitoring and compliance reasons. 
  6. Monitor provider documentation for technical compliance and accuracy.
  7. Monitor and facilitate staff compliance with HIPAA, W&IC and other efforts to preserve the integrity of protected health information.
  8. Track and report volume of service by team and provider.
  9. Establishes positive working relationships with the applicable county representatives and ensures accurate staffing reports for EHR, and EHR/mandatory training compliance.
  10. Comply with established Clinica Sierra Vista policies.
  11. Always maintain confidentiality and security.
  12. May be responsible for the monitoring and follow up for more than one program.

Quality (For SUD sites)

  1. Maintain compliance to Medi-Cal certification
  2. Submitting the daily census for all SUD sites
  3. Submit required monthly reporting
    • Client roster, PC 1000, white form, etc
  4. Chart compliance audits (2-3 per site) monthly.
    • Physicals, Tx plans, assessments, discharges, and documentation
  5. Monitor and maintains client admissions.
    • Scanning necessary documents into chart. 
  6. Maintain relationship with county IT team to resolve any technical difficulties.
  7.  May be responsible for the monitoring and follow up for more than one program. 

You'll be successful with the following qualifications:

  1. Completion of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, or university, with a major in Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Behavioral Science, Social Work or related field preferred. 
  2. A clean drug screen confirmation. 
  3. Pass DMV background check.
