WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

In this high-growth, highly visible position, you will serve as both quality supervisor and quality engineer for our Stainless-Steel manufacturing plant.

Team Supervision and People leadership:

  • Serve as the primary QA liaison for the stainless-steel value stream, ensuring plant quality performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Directly manage four quality technicians and provide coaching, mentorship, career development and succession planning, as well as scheduling, workload distribution and shift-handover communications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, Lean, design, sales, materials, procurement, HR, maintenance) as the main quality expert.
  • Ensure production lines meet customer requirements by following accurate processes and procedures.

Quality Engineering Technical Leadership:

  • Manage internal non-conformances (production NCRs) and external complaints. Evaluate suspect materials and work with internal and external teams to quickly identify and resolve quality issues using Six Sigma methodologies for root-cause analysis.
  • Develop and manage corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain and improve Quality Management System compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
  • Define and establish in-process quality control tasks to ensure manufacturing capability and product reliability.
  • Lead and support external quality system audits, and participate in process and product quality audits with follow-up actions.
  • Apply engineering fundamentals and Lean methodologies to improve manufacturing quality.
  • Support APQP activities such as PFMEA, Control Plan, GR&R, Capability Studies, First Article Inspection (FAI) etc. for launching new products and maintaining proper revisions of these processes and documents for existing products.

YOU HAVE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical, Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Automation, Chemical, or Materials engineering.
  • 6+ years in Manufacturing and Quality functions.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience.
  • Significant customer management experience, with the ability to communicate directly with customers and suppliers on complex issues, and escalate as needed.
  • Experience with cross-plant contamination and establishing containment and disposition criteria for non-conforming products.
  • Ability to manage numerous projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment under minimal direction.
  • Experience with process management, organizational change, Six Sigma, Lean methodologies, and quality systems preferred.
  • Quality certifications (CQE, CMQ, CQA) and ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor training preferred.
  • Sheet-Steel experience preferred.
  • Certified Welding Inspector certification preferred

Pay Transparency
 
nVent’s pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee’s work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.
 
Compensation Range:

$89,300.00 - $165,800.00

Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
