We’re looking for a Quality Engineering Manager to shape how we build quality into everything we deliver. If you’re passionate about modern engineering practices, embedding quality at speed, and leading teams to deliver reliable, high-performing software, this is your opportunity to drive real impact across our technology landscape.
Who Are We?
Not just another building society. Not just another job.
We're the fourth biggest building society in the UK and what makes us a bit different is that we're a mutual organisation. We don't have shareholders; we're owned by our members.
Our colleagues say Skipton's a great place to work, and you could be one of them, bringing with you new ideas on how we can keep customers at the heart of what we do.
Whatever your background, and whatever your goals, we'll help you take the next step towards a better future.
The team you will be joining
You will be joining our Engineering and Quality community, working across multiple platforms, products, and delivery teams. This is a highly collaborative environment where Quality Engineering partners closely with Product, DevSecOps, Architecture, and Service Operations to embed quality throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
This role operates across multiple teams, influencing how quality is engineered into our platforms from the outset. You’ll play a key role in shaping quality strategy, improving delivery performance, and ensuring teams are equipped with the tools, environments, and practices needed to deliver high-quality software at pace. Alongside this, you’ll lead and develop quality engineering capability, building a strong community of practice across the organisation.
What’s In It For You?

3 paid volunteering days per annum

We care about your health and wellbeing – we provide a range of benefits that support this including cycle to work initiative and discounted gym membership
What Will You Be Doing?
Defining and delivering a modern Quality Engineering strategy that embeds testing within CI/CD pipelines and supports fast, reliable software delivery
Driving improvements across engineering performance metrics such as lead time, deployment frequency, change failure rate, and defect escape rates
Leading the adoption of shift-left practices including contract, performance, resilience, and security testing within automated pipelines
Shaping quality standards, tooling, and frameworks to enable consistent, scalable, and efficient testing across platforms and teams
Leading, coaching, and developing Quality Engineering capability, building a strong, collaborative community and raising standards across the organisation

Strong background in test automation, non-functional testing, and embedding quality within CI/CD and DevOps practices
