Position Purpose:
Utilize Quality tools in a team atmosphere to support plant objectives, launch new products, drive continuous improvement in existing product and reduce scrap. The Quality Engineer participates in corporate APQP meetings, Supplier Selection, and development; works with internal Measure Systems Analysis (MSA) personnel and Plant Engineers. The Quality Engineer Investigates problems to root cause and develops appropriate corrective actions. The Quality Engineer will provide leadership along with the Quality Manager in maintaining IATF16949 certification.
Essential Functions:
- Develop Quality Systems, standards, and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
- Evaluate and approve fixtures, tooling processes and production equipment as being capable of meeting customer requirements.
- Supplier Development/Containment/Corrective Actions
- Serve as Quality representative in APQP product launches.
- Submit and Review Supplier/Customer PPAP submissions.
- Supports/Participates in IATF16949 certification process.
- Serves as Internal Quality Auditor
- Utilize Statistical Tools for problem solving continuous improvement and scrap reduction.
- Customer Liaison as required.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education and Training
- A Bachelor’s Degree is required.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer preferred.
- Working knowledge of IATF16949, Internal auditing experience preferred.
- Quality Core Tools, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, GT&D, etc.
- Experience with Problem Solving Tools, Ishikawa, 5 Why, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3-5 years-experience implementing quality systems in a manufacturing and design environment.
- Experience with processes (cutting, forming, welding, machining, painting, and assembly), products and/or industry highly desirable.
- Ability to communicate and work well with others via written or verbal method.
- Professionalism and integrity to communicate and work with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to train others in Quality principals and tool use.
- Implementation of time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities is needed.
- Results oriented with a strong sense of personal responsibility.

Pay Range95,000-105,000
