You will have the opportunity to:
Customer Quality Leadership
- Lead complex customer issue investigations, including multi-variable root cause analysis, advanced problem-solving tools, and data-driven prioritization.
- Coordinate customer-facing corrective action responses, ensuring timely, thorough, and professionally communicated results.
- Serve as the escalation point for persistent or high-impact customer quality concerns.
Quality Management System Ownership
- Lead internal audits and manage corrective actions with cross-functional teams.
- Own specific QMS elements (e.g., calibration program, document control, supplier quality monitoring).
- Champion compliance with ISO9001, AS9100D, ISO17025 by developing documentation improvements and monitoring system performance.
Technical Process & Data Analysis
- Conduct detailed statistical analysis (SPC, capability studies, trend analysis).
- Lead investigations involving metallurgical or scientific principles (if applicable to operations).
- Review production and laboratory data to identify nonconformances and recurring patterns.
Continuous Improvement Projects
- Lead medium-scale improvement projects focused on yield, efficiency, scrap reduction, or cost savings.
- Utilize Lean tools to eliminate waste and streamline processes.
- Collaborate with Process Engineering, Operations, and Lab teams to execute data-driven improvements.
Peer Support & Development
- Mentor Quality Engineer I team members in procedures, tools, and investigation methodology.
- Deliver basic training on quality concepts to operators, technicians, and cross-functional groups.
- Provide technical guidance on customer requirements and quality expectations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or technical field including but not limited to engineering (metallurgy preferred), chemistry, or biology. Master’s degree in technical field preferred.
- 3-5 years of quality engineering experience.
- Working knowledge of systematic QMS processes, including understanding procedures, work instructions, and forms interconnect within the quality system.
- Ability to independently execute QMS activities such as internal audit participation, corrective action generation, document updates, and calibration or inspection record reviews.
- Consistent on time task completion with the ability to prioritize work effectively and support team processes proactively.
- Demonstrates strong collaboration across cross functional groups (Operations, Process Engineering, Lab) and communicates requirements clearly.
Preferred
- Routine use of SAP or ETQ for quality data retrieval, basic analytics, change control workflows, defect tracking, or audit support.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Use advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, conditional formatting) to analyze operational and quality data.
- Facilitate meetings, deliver technical findings, and can present corrective actions to customers and internal teams.
- Develop training materials, lead formal sessions, and improve team competency in quality systems, documentation, or tools.
- Independently lead investigations using structured tools (FMEA, control plans, data trending).
- Communicate technical findings effectively across teams and customers with clarity and precision.

Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry, materials science, ceramics, or other technical degree
- 3 to 5 years' experience in an engineering position
- Working knowledge of ISO9001 or AS9100 quality systems
- Familiarity with FMEAs and control plans
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)

- Material science degree
