Meet the QE team

We are growing our Quality Engineering team and looking for a Quality Engineer who cares about quality as an outcome, not a phase. You will help us build it in from the start, shaping how we prevent defects, automate confidently, and ship continuously.

This is quality engineering, not just testing. You will own quality across the software lifecycle, partnering with developers and product from the first conversation, shifting testing left, and using the right mix of automated and exploratory approaches for the problem in front of you. Some days that means writing automated checks; others it means digging into a tricky integration or pairing with an engineer on a pull request. The constant is judgement: knowing what to test, when, and

why.

What you'll do

  • Build quality in. Contribute test code alongside the team, adhering to established frameworks and engineering best practices, so quality is part of development, not bolted on afterwards.
  • Automate what counts. Develop and maintain continuous testing (functional and non-functional) and help our CI/CD pipelines give fast, trustworthy feedback.
  • Test across the stack. Run system, integration, regression and exploratory testing to validate functionality, performance and the real user experience.
  • Review and collaborate. Take part in pull-request reviews to uphold code quality and standards, and share what you learn with the team.
  • Make quality visible. Track coverage and cases clearly, manage QA work and defects in JIRA, and keep the team honest about where we stand.
  • Improve how we work. Spot friction in the delivery process and help us remove it.

What you'll bring

  • At least 5 years in Quality Assurance or Test Engineering, with a real mix of automated and manual testing.
  • ISTQB Foundation Level certification (or an equivalent professional qualification).
  • AI for productivity in QE. Hands-on experience using AI tools to work smarter in quality engineering, especially in test automation, and the drive to bring those practices into the team and help others adopt them.
  • Confidence with at least one of C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, or scripting such as PowerShell.
  • Hands-on experience with modern automation tooling such as Playwright or Appium (web and mobile).
  • A working understanding of CI/CD pipelines and test automation design patterns.
  • SQL skills to validate data and carry out backend testing.
  • Experience with SaaS and cloud environments, particularly AWS (we’ll fund your AWS training and certification).
  • Familiarity with BDD/TDD methodologies and modern testing frameworks.
  • Middleware testing and building mock services for robust, isolated test scenarios.
  • Comfortable with distributed source control and session-based exploratory testing.
  • Clear communication: you can explain technical ideas simply, to technical and non-technical people alike.
  • Cool under pressure. You adapt fast, juggle competing priorities without dropping the ball, and do your sharpest work when the heat is on.
  • A can-do spark. A self-starter who brings energy, owns the outcome, and is always hungry to achieve more.
  • Strong problem-solving instincts and an eye for detail.

LEAP is an inclusive, people-first company committed to breaking down institutional barriers that keep people from reaching their potential. If you meet some, but not all the requirements above, we encourage you to still submit your application.

Why join LEAP?

What We Do

LEAP practice management software has grown from the belief that it should be fast and easy for legal practitioners to manage matter documents, accounting and billing, so they can focus on practicing law. Today, LEAP is the world’s largest provider of legal practice management software for small firms; with clients across the United States, United Kingdom and Australia. Firms have relied on LEAP since 1992 for innovative and powerful software to simplify their workflow. We take this responsibility seriously and dedicate millions of dollars each year to product development. It’s resulted in benefits such as a cloud-based and mobile interface. This allows teams to access their LEAP data anywhere, anytime. In addition, over 13,000 automated forms and templates are regularly updated for all areas of law, and purpose-built for the United States’ federal and state jurisdictions. We’re obsessive about evolving LEAP with feedback from clients, so the software is easy to use and allows small firms to get more work done. Our goal is to empower small firms to make more money. After all, everything LEAP does is geared toward helping the attorneys who help people. Let the LEAP team become an extension of your practice, so you can focus on what you do best. Spend more time advising on the law!
