We are hiring a Quality Systems & Site Quality Engineer to support our manufacturing site in Closter, NJ. This role will help build and sustain the systems, standards, and processes needed to improve quality performance and prevent issues from reaching the customer.
This is a hands-on, on-site role that combines Quality Management System support, Trubox document control, nonconforming material process discipline, corrective action support, inspection standardization, and production-floor quality support.
The ideal candidate is someone who can work well with people on the floor, organize quality system information, document issues clearly, follow up on open actions, and help turn daily quality concerns into stronger processes and standards.
What You Will Do
- Support implementation and sustainment of Trubox QMS for controlled documents, forms, work instructions, inspection checks, and records.
- Route documents for review and approval and help ensure current documents are available at point of use.
- Support nonconforming material processes, including tagging, logging, containment, disposition, and closure.
- Assist with CAPA and root cause investigations for customer complaints, supplier concerns, repeat defects, and high-risk quality issues.
- Help develop standardized inspection checks, control plans, and reaction plans for production processes.
- Partner with Production, Quality, Warehouse, Purchasing, Engineering, and leadership to resolve quality concerns.
- Support supplier and customer quality investigations by gathering accurate evidence, quantities, photos, part numbers, and related documentation.
- Assist with quality metrics, trend reporting, open action tracking, and leadership updates.
- Support calibration and measurement equipment control by helping identify tools, verify status, and escalate concerns.
- Support audits, process verification, and long-term ISO 9001 readiness.
What We Are Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing quality, quality systems, quality engineering, or related manufacturing support.
- Experience with document control, quality records, NCRs, CAPAs, audits, inspections, or quality system processes.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to document issues clearly.
- Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment and spend time on the production floor.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to learn and use ERP, QMS, quality reporting, and document control systems.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Trubox, IQS, or similar QMS software.
- Experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne or similar ERP system.
- Experience creating inspection plans, work instructions, control plans, or quality standards.
- Experience with NCR/CAPA systems, root cause analysis, supplier quality, customer complaints, or internal audits.
- Experience in manufacturing environments such as metal fabrication, roll forming, stamping, welding, assembly, HVAC, or building products.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, SPC, MSA, FMEA, control plans, or layered process audits.
- Bachelor degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience acceptable.
Why This Role Matters
This role will help strengthen how the site controls documents, manages nonconforming material, standardizes inspections, responds to quality issues, and builds long-term QMS maturity. It is a key role in helping the site move from reactive quality response toward stronger process control and prevention.
