Quality Engineer

Principal Activities

• Acting as first line QA contact for customer calls regarding product problems; then liaising internally with appropriate persons to give the customer a prompt response. Note: This does not include progressing open orders or repairs.
• Raising and closing In Service Defect Reports (ISDRs).
• Where appropriate raising of Corrective Action Requests (CARs).
• Participate in product improvement programs to correct in-field defects and manufacturing abnormalities. 
• Liaising with production and other departments to resolve queries.
• Carry out detailed "root-cause analysis" and formulate corrective actions. Manage the process of driving changes and improvements as a result of this.
• Assembly of documentation packs for QA3 and QA4 certificates.
• Liaising with purchasing and with suppliers to resolve any supplier certification issues.
• Direct contact with customers and suppliers on QA related matters. 
• Liaising with customers to resolve any certification issues.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

• Graduate level education in Mechanical or Production Engineering. 
• An interest in QA in the widest sense is prerequisite with an aptitude for problem solving and continuous improvement, but no prior experience is required as training will be provided. 
• The job holder should have an outgoing personality and be comfortable dealing with customers and internal personnel at all levels.
