Serve as a Quality Assurance Engineer on SECURA's implementation of a SaaS underwriting application, Duck Creek. Work on the base implementation of the product, as well as various sized features and enhancements. This position will write, execute, and analyze test cases, eliminating bugs and deficiencies within the application, with an opportunity to lead the QA strategy within the team based on experience level.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to identify, write, and execute test cases from business requirements and acceptance criteria 
  • Must be comfortable obtaining a clear understanding of the business requirements by collaborating with the Business Analysts and Software Engineers to ensure consistent alignment and direction 
  • Refine, plan, identify and escalate testing risks or impediments during sprint ceremonies by actively participating in meetings from an end-user perspective 
  • Identify, communicate, and escalate testing risks effectively in verbal and written formats. 
  • Ability to understand and complete industry testing standards and provide reporting metrics when applicable 
  • Perform root cause analysis, provide input into issue resolution for test results, and log detailed incidents within the preferred testing tool(s) 
  • Complete tasks and communicate effectively to stakeholders in a timely and professional manner 
  • Follow defined Quality Assurance standards while also aiding in maintaining clear documentation and an overall, comprehensive test strategy 
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement with the ability to coordinate knowledge transfer sessions to team members 
  • Mentorship of junior Quality Assurance associates 
  • Other duties as assigned 

QUALIFICATIONS:
ESSENTIAL:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Business, or equivalent experience
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative work environment

PREFERRED:

  • Background in Property/Casualty Insurance
  • Experience working with Duck Creek applications
  • Experience with project and test management tools, including Azure DevOps (ADO)
  • Experience working in an agile/scrum environment
  • Experience working with offshore resources
  • Experience with Business Driven Development
