ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

Shift: Days -Monday-Friday 8:00AM – 5:00PM (May require extended work hours including nights, weekend and holidays).

The salary range for this position is $58,500.00 - 91,400.00 USD Annual

Come join our Colonial Heights, VA facility where we manufacture Trojan condoms and Scent Booster in-wash additives.

ROLE SUMMARY:

Provide statistical information for supporting quality improvement by identifying testing methods, samples, sizes and experiments.  The use of statistical models and methods for describing and analyzing data is applied to result in improved quality, increased productivity and lower cost of operations

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (*denotes essential job functions):

  • Determines quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes.
  • Establishes statistical confidence by identifying sample size and acceptable error, determining levels of confidence.
  • Establishes modeling, and reliability demonstration tests.
  • Develops experiments by applying full and fractional techniques.
  • Develops sampling plans by applying attribute, variable, and sequential sampling methods.
  • Analyzes data by completing hypothesis, normal distribution, and process capability analysis tests.
  • Conduct root cause and corrective action investigations
  • Partner with suppliers and vendors to manage product and material quality.
  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data, making recommendations.
  • Department director may assign other responsibilities as required

MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Science in a scientific discipline
  • 1 year of Medical Device Experience or equivalent industry.
  • Demonstrated use of Quality tools/methodologies including process validation (IQ, OQ, PQ).
  • Understanding of statistical analysis and sampling plans and application of same.
  • Familiar with Medical Device industry regulations including FDA, EN 46001, ISO 13485 and the Medical Device Directive.
  • Familiar with Corrective Action & Preventive Action Programs
  • Familiar with Root Cause Analysis tools and application

PREFERED EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • ASQ CQE a plus
  • Six Sigma training a plus
  • Lean Manufacturing Concepts and experience a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Computer skills in databases, statistical, project management and presentation software.  Operation of lab equipment and/or manufacturing machines.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior Office, Laboratory and Manufacturing environment.
  • Must possess the ability to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment.
  • Must possess the ability to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions.
  • Must possess strength to lift and carry up to 10 pounds on occasion.
  • Must be able to perform work onsite and be comfortable in a light industrial environment, including some exposure to non-toxic dust.
  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
