Position Summary:
Provide quality support to manufacturing lines to ensure production schedules are on time. Support High Pressure Die Cast (HPDC) “As Cast”/Machining/Assembly Production. Champion Defect Analysis & work closely with other Departments verifying issues are counter measured using QRQC when required. Investigate Defects found in-line & at Final Inspection & Final Product Audits
Responsibilities:
- Support Quality & Manufacturing Department with introduction of New Customers & CSR (Customer Specific Requirements)
- Maintain supplier improvement processes through 4M Management, PFEMA, & Control Plan creation & audits:
- Prepare PPAP Packages with data from Metrology
- Prepare Test Result Summary with Special Testing Data/Results: (Ex. 3000 hr Adhesion Test for Structural Parts)
- Support Supplier Visits/Audits for Aluminum Suppliers using VDA6.3 Potential Analysis Method & other IATF-16949:2016 International Standards, and other suppliers as needed with Corporate SQA Dept
- Work closely with Corporate Customer Service Engineers on Warranty field related issues
- Responsible for Filling out 8D’s and implementing countermeasures
- Review & keep QC check sheets up to date
- Publish Plant & Corporate Monthly Quality reports as required
- Other Duties as required
Education & Experience:
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Must have minimum of 5 years of QA or CMM experience for “as cast”/machined/assembled parts & /or powertrain/engine related supplier parts high precision measurement experience.
- Ability to analyze, interpret, & explain CMM reports.
- Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings. Strong use of Metric System Units required.
- Strong Understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings. Strong use of Metric System required.
- The candidate must have a minimum of 2-3 years automotive/defense quality experience in either Parts Quality or Assembly/Machining/Casting Quality.
- Strong Understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC). Must possess the ability to analyze data, identify trends, & communicate to Quality Manager the countermeasure solution.
- Candidate must possess an understanding of Automotive/Defense quality testing & possess an ability to interpret the results & recommend next steps.
- Must possess the ability to Input & Analyze Data, identify trends & communicate to Metrology Engineer and Quality Manager.
- Ability to compile data & create reports in Microsoft Office applications.
- Must be detail oriented with the ability to work project with different priorities
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the company
