Job Responsibilities:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all products, processes, and systems meet internal and customer quality standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing facility. This role serves as a key liaison between production, engineering, suppliers, and customers to identify root causes of quality issues, implement corrective actions, and drive defect prevention. The Quality Engineer applies problem-solving
methodologies, advanced quality planning tools, and industry standards (such as IATF 16949, ISO9001, and customer-specific requirements) to maintain compliance and exceed customer expectations. In addition, this position plays a critical role in developing quality systems, monitoring performance metrics, and fostering a culture of operational excellence and zero-defect manufacturing within the organization.
Role Responsibilities
  • Directly lead PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) projects and provide Quality-focused support on FMEA (Failure Modes & Effects Analysis) interrogation, improvement and application
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone)
  • Monitor production processes and quality performance using statistical methods (SPC, MSA) to ensure compliance with specifications
  • Partner with manufacturing teams to develop process controls to reduce scrap and rework
  • Support customer and supplier quality issue investigations and drive timely resolution
  • Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific quality

  • Develop and maintain Control Plans, Work Instructions, and quality documentation
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in alignment with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
  • Prepare quality reports, metrics, and presentations for management review
  • Participate in internal and external audits to support certification and customer

  • Support the NPI team, where required, to ensure the phased/gated deliverables in the APQP process are met on time
  • Analyze performance data, produce reports and tracking databases, and make appropriate recommendations to guide systemic maturation
  • Ability to identify opportunities for improvement within the department
  • Promote the company's HSE policies across the department and plant
  • Flexibility to carry out other duties as and when required

Essential Experience
  • Knowledge and experience with the PPAP & APQP processes
  • Experience in a high-volume automotive manufacturing facility
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong understanding of the Quality Core Tools - APQP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, PPAP
  • Experience in root cause analysis and practical problem solving
  • Proficient with Business Operating Systems in accordance with IATF 16949
  • Computer literacy

Desirable Experience
  • Die casting experience
  • Metallurgical experience/knowledge - mechanical testing, mass spectrometry, microscopy
  • Metrology experience - understanding of CMM & blue/white light scanning technologies with good knowledge of GD&T systems
  • IATF 16949 Internal Auditor qualification
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Six Sigma qualifications
  • Leadership experience, directly managing a team
