Job Responsibilities:
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Shift Production Supervisor the Assembly Setter will be first response to any minor automated issues that affect assembly production on a shift by shift basis. A core member of the production team, you will be responsible for the manufacturing of castings on site, whilst ensuring a safe working environment is maintained, and customer satisfaction being the goal in terms of meeting high quality standards. You will have experience with ABB robots, Tox Presses and Automatic/Manual rivnut insertion machines.
Role Responsibilities:
This role entails but is not limited to:
  • Guarantee a safe working environment
  • Ensure all production processes conform to current quality standards
  • Manufacture parts in time to satisfy customer demand
  • Strive to improve production processes
  • Part of team to root cause analysis of production process downtime and implement corrective actions
  • Be competent in recovery of ABB robots from an emergency stop position, sequence failures and modification in simple routines
  • Process confirmation to ensure Spacnuts and Rivnut insertions are acc to requirements
  • Training of Operators on how to operate and recover from an error state or emergency stop the spac and rivnut insertion processes.
  • Lead problem solving and support cross functional teams discussions when needed
  • Collect and evaluate basic data to understand the behaviour of on going issues
  • Perform equipment TPMs in order to keep machines compliant to availability and quality specs required
  • Manufacturing liaison and reporting shortfalls to Manufacturing supervision
  • Other related duties as determined by the Production Manager
  • Promote the companies HSE policies across the department and plant.

Essential Experience:
  • Proven Production environment experience automation
  • Skills on insertion of spac nut and rivnuts
  • Experience of problem solving
  • Use of 5S to improve production environment
  • Understanding of KPI's to track performance
  • ABB robot operation and recovery

Desirable Experience:
  • Experience within castings sector
  • IOSH Qualification
  • Tier 1 automotive supply
  • APQP & PPAP
  • Training of team members
  • Basic understanding of OEE calculation and what drives the metric from the cell

Work Environment
Plant conditions necessitate exposure to heat, cold, dust, hot objects, and loud noises within our manufacturing environment. Full Health and Safety training and PPE provided for all conditions.
