The Role

PURPOSE: 
Consistent and accountable main contact to OEM for quality topics. Achieve customer satisfaction through continuous improvement of the plant's production processes and adherence to the quality system, reducing waste as much as possible.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow up in a regular basis department KPIs in order to measure the efficiency of their activity. Set up action plans accordingly.
  • To ensure proper reporting on Monthly basis on timely manner related to CPK,s, ONE PAGER’s. in the plant under his / her responsibility.
  • To ensure proper reporting on Monthly basis on timely manner related to ROAD MAP/ QUALITY WALLS / NQC report / PRODUCT AUDITS.
  • Use and understand Grupo Apps in order to get monthly reports from the system and validate the accuracy to report accordingly.
  • Design, develop and implement properly quality control guideline to guarantee continuous improvement and follow up with customers.
  • Actively participate in Product / Process audit (Weekly / Monthly basis) to make sure quality systems are properly in place and working.
  • Lead actively the problem resolution activities, making sure to protect customers with the proper adherance to our procedures
  • Application of customer requirements
  • Train mentor quality personnel when required or needed
  • Responsible for calibration/validation/maintenance records of tools and checking fixtures in their respectable areas
  • Report to (n+1), participate actively in department meetings
  • Fulfilment of any new task or additional reasonable request deemed necessary by supervisor.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Science / Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1 Year experience in automotive industry as Tier 1, quality area desired.


REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Good communication skills and Leader attitude
  • Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, Ctrl.Plan, AMEF, MSA, SPC)
  • IATF 16949 and VDA 6.3
  • GD&T ASME Y14.5 M-1994
  • Proficient in G8D / Problem solving resolution
  • Effective Error Proofing
  • Calibration / Basic Knowledge of PLC Coding
  • Minitab
  • Layered process audit


PREFFERED SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of Volkswagen and VDA quality processes
  • Language Skills: Spanish and/or German


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work is normally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to, sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to understand and comply with all relevant safety practices.


FLSA STATUS/WORKING SCHEDULE:

  • Location: Hopkinsville, KY
  • Domestic Travel within the US: 10% and is subject to change based upon customer needs.
  • Schedule: Day shift
  • Assignment Start: ASAP – Contract-to-hire
