BASIC POSITION DUTIES:
This position is responsible for facilitating the Quality Department activities & procedures for sampling & approval during production to ensure product quality.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Support Manufacturing Engineers, Quality Engineers, R&D, Purchasing & other related resources in quality improvements. (Document & track results of actions.)
- Assists Quality Improvement Project Activity.
- Provides guidance, technical support, & analysis for improvement projects & processes.
- Key member in PPAP process, transfer projects, & launch activity (cradle to grave).
- Monitor customer scorecard performance/satisfaction & establish improvement plans if required.
- Investigate customer complaints regarding product quality, nonconforming materials, & help determine corrective actions.
- Key company representative for customer quality related visits.
- Assist with problem solving & verification of countermeasures with team.
- Support APQP process through attendance & participation in CR & CFT meetings.
- Provides summaries & conducts reporting for parts & equipment.
- Train laboratory & quality personnel to understand & equipment & methodologies & ensure they follow customer specific requirements.
- Update & maintain Quality KPI data & information.
- Maintain records & samples in an organized manner to allow ease of retrieval.
- Report quality system results & metrics.
- Supports record retention activities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field preferred
- Three (3) years of experience as a Quality Engineer.
- Familiarity with Automotive customer’s quality requirements & industry standards, preferred.
- Materials, Brake product knowledge/experience preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE DESIRED:
- Communications (written/verbal) skills.
- Use of office related software for office use
- Blueprint reading, GD&T, basic understanding of metrology.
- Experience in automotive or manufacturing industry & PPAP, APQP, Control Plans, FMEA, MSA, GR&R, SPC, Manufacturing Process Experience.
