Job Description
We are seeking multiple Quality Engineers to join the Hinkley Point C (HPC) Quality team, responsible for quality investigations, supplier interface and raising and resolving quality-related issues. This role will be site / office based in Bridgwater, Somerset.
You will support client projects, ensuring project-wide quality standards are met and helping to establish any specific quality arrangements, whilst ensuring quality in activities such as, Manufacturing Inspection and Test (MIT) Plans, Life-time Quality Records, NCR Facilitation, Root Cause Analysis, and Audits.
The Quality Engineer will:
- Apply quality measures in projects to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Carry out quality investigations - route cause analysis, 5 whys.
- Keep Project Quality Plans and MIT Plans consistent.
- Supplier management and interfacing.
- Collect and analyse quality data for clear management reporting.
- Manage non-conformance issues, identify preventive actions, and ensure timely resolution and learning across projects.
- Conduct audits for both specific work streams and across projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Apprenticeship in an Engineering discipline.
- Qualified to ONC/HNC level as a minimum
- Practitioner Grade Member of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) or equivalent engineering institute.
- Formally recognised qualification in Quality, e.g. IRCA Audit
- Experience in a large project environment, preferably in a heavily regulated sector.
- Solid understanding of the quality control principles, and process management.
- Experience with IS09001 - preferably auditing experience.
- Strong communication skills.
