Job Description

Job Purpose:

To actively support the Teledyne GMI Quality Management System, by ensuring supplier quality performance and manufacturing yields are of the highest level. You will also be responsible for ensuring manufacturing test and measurement equipment is calibrated to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance. The individual will also be responsible for the management and processing of non-conforming materials, MRB and RMA processes.

The role will provide technical support to production and Final QA processes ensuring products meet expected quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements. This will be achieved through day-to-day line support, Quality inspection of finished goods, and performing process audits to ensure compliance with our ISO9001 and ATEX certifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management and control of Goods-Inwards inspection processes

  • First Article Inspection and reports for new parts, suppliers, or revision changes

  • Maintenance and creation of inspection plans, AQL sampling and process documents

  • Management and processing of non-conforming goods and materials

  • Chair monthly MRB review and disposition of non-conforming material

  • Communications with suppliers regarding non-conforming materials and RMA’s

  • Supplier selection, approval and performance management

  • Supplier, In-process, and Customer Complaints CAPA process via Q-Pulse

  • Calibration management of production test and measurement equipment

  • Provide support for production and Final QA processes

  • Analysis and resolution of production/customer/regulatory-impacting issues

  • Participate in internal audit program (ISO/ATEX) and support external audits

  • Operation and improvement of the company Quality management system.

  • Lead quality improvements and initiatives in-line with main business objectives.

  • Creation of reports and records to support the Quality Management System

  • Provide input to Monthly Quality Review and annual Management Review

Metrics:

  • Goods-In batch rejection rate / best / worst performing suppliers

  • Aged Non-conforming Materials (NCM) / MRB inventory value

  • Calibrations - on-time / late / failed / frequency / costs

  • Internal audit execution on-time / late

  • CAPA / SCAR raised / closed / overdue

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum HNC/HND in Quality Management Systems or Engineering discipline

  • Quality planning and improvement tools – FMEA, Control Plan, SPC, RCCA, 8D

  • 3 years relevant experience working in a quality engineering role/function.

  • Inspection and measurement of electro-mechanical parts, sub-assemblies and PCBA

  • Familiar with measurement systems / tools, and able to read technical drawings

  • Trained and certified ISO9001:2015 auditor

  • Quality focused, self-starter who can think pragmatically about business requirements

  • Microsoft Office applications including Dynamics AX

  • Q-Pulse Quality Management Systems software program
