Overview & Responsibilities
Perform inspection duties to assure that all Q.C. check points are verified and that all final products leave the shop in accordance with Elliott quality standards.

Work closely with Shop Operations and Shop Engineers to deliver a quality product to the customers.

Sign off in work scopes and complete supporting quality documents.

Help disposition non conforming materials as received from vendors.

Verify MT, PT and UT Inspections. Train hourly team to perform inspections as necessary. Accept and reject indications per process specifications. Help determining path forward on parts that are rejected or deemed out of specification, work with engineering as required.

Must have experience in the use of precision measuring instruments and the ability to teach others how to use them and what tools are best for what measurements.

Work with Quality Engineer to review Non-conformance reports to determine quality trends to prevent and/or reduce defects. Determine problem causes and rectify / work with the team to correct issues quickly. Make recommendations to Engineering / Quality Engineer for prioritization of trend remediation.

Understanding of materials and forging / fabrication processes.

Ability to verify complex setups and alignments

Ability to verify alignment of cases / components

Work with Quality engineer and engineering team on QARs related to shop trends.

Qualify shop personnel for measuring tasks.

Observe and monitor operations and equipment to ensure conformance to process specifications

Final inspect repaired parts I.E. dimensional, appearance, surface finish, assembly, NCR disposition. Verify pre final cut measurements on critical parts

Write NCR's for defects found throughout shop

Understanding of weld materials and welding processes. Certified Weld inspector (CWI) or Certified Associate Welding Inspector (CAWI) is preferred
Requirements / Qualifications:

Bachelor degree, preferably in Quality/Materials, Engineering or other related technical field and four years’ experience OR Associate degree with seven years’ experience

Metrology experience, previous or current experience using FARO arms is ideal

Obtains and maintains at least one Quality Certification such as American Society for Quality (ASQ) CQE, CQA, CQT, CQM, CRE, Six Sigma Black Belt or NDE Level III (various disciplines) is required
