Position Purpose/SummaryThe Quality Engineer is committed to supporting Louisiana Bridge Builders by coordinating, documenting, and reporting quality activities for the Project.
LocationThis position is based in Lake Charles, LA.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities- Ensure all inspection and testing documentation is accurately completed and filed.
- Monitor and maintain Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for construction activities.
- Verify that required hold points, witness points, and acceptance criteria are followed in accordance with specifications.
- Perform routine field inspections to verify construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, and work plans.
- Assist in ensuring that quality requirements are implemented by subcontractors.
- Compile comprehensive reports detailing quality performance, highlighting trends, and suggesting corrective actions and lessons learned.
- Collaborate in the digitalization of quality records.
- Monitor, verify and generate daily reports on the progress and performance of contractor activities.
- Maintaining an active role in providing relevant information to continually improve procedures, Work Plans, and QC efforts.
- Performing the off‐site quality inspections at the Owners/suppliers/manufacturer’s yard/shop as needed.
- Participating in the analysis of corrective and preventive actions and, in general, identifying and recording any incidents related to the Quality Plans and Quality Procedures.
- Reporting quality issues associated with the construction and track deficiencies/non‐conformances.
- Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Effectively communicate in a positive and professional manner through written and verbal communications in all interfaces with customers/public, fellow employees, vendors, etc.
- Ability to use appropriate computer programs (including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite) which includes having proficient computer skills and the ability to adapt and learn as programs and processes change.
- Ability to work as a team member and exert initiative to work independently to reach a goal.

- Ability to perform on-site inspections in outdoor areas.
At a minimum, the Quality Engineer must have a bachelor’s degree in a related field of study along with 3+ years of related quality experience or high school diploma, or equivalent, along with 7+ years of related quality experience. Experience working with Design-Build projects and/or the construction industry is preferred. Must possess a current and valid driver’s license.
Knowledge and experience in the implementation of the ISO 9001 standard on Quality Management System is required. Experience in implementing quality management and quality control digital tools will be valued.

What We Do
Louisiana Bridge Builders (“LBB”) is designing and building the new I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge in Lake Charles, Louisiana (USA) for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD). LBB will also be responsible for the 5.5 miles of reconstruction of interstate highway, various structures, ramps, and approaches between I-210 West End and Ryan Street. LBB will implement a ‘free flow’ toll and remove the existing bridge. The new infrastructure will be built with environmentally friendly construction techniques to minimize the impact on the Lake Charles area. The bridge, which is part of the I-10 interstate highway and is the largest project in the history of the LADOTD, will replace the 70-year-old existing crossing, dramatically increase capacity, reduce congestion, improve travel times, and increase safety for Louisiana, the wider national interstate highway network, and the 70,000+ cars and trucks that use it daily. The final design, intended to preserve and recognize the heritage of the historic bridge, will be determined in cooperation with the LADOTD and the local community.
