Quality Engineer | Valley, NE (Onsite)
Position Summary:
The Quality Engineer drives quality assurance and quality control initiatives across manufacturing operations, focusing on process improvement, root cause analysis, corrective actions, quality metrics, and continuous improvement. This role partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and customers to ensure products meet internal, industry, and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead quality improvement and problem-solving initiatives using Six Sigma and Lean methodologies.
- Investigate quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards (AISC, ASTM, AWS, etc.).
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and customers to resolve quality concerns.
- Develop and maintain quality processes, metrics, control plans, and documentation.
- Support audits, customer reviews, supplier evaluations, and new product introductions.
- Travel up to 50% as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, Associate's degree with 5+ years, or 9+ years of related experience.
- Experience in Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control.
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
- Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, SPC, process capability, Minitab (or equivalent), PFMEA, MSA, and root cause analysis.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong project management, communication, and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Engineering degree (Industrial or Mechanical Engineering preferred).
- Manufacturing experience, particularly in metals fabrication and structural welding.
- Experience with AISC, ISO, DOT requirements, and auditing agencies.
- Advanced Six Sigma certification (Green, Black, or Master Black Belt).
- NDT experience (VT, MT, UT).
- Experience supporting transmission, distribution, lighting, communication, or substation products.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work in manufacturing environments, and perform field work while wearing required PPE.

- Bachelor’s degree in industrial or mechanical engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience in metals manufacturing and structural welding
- Five years of QA or QC experience
- Experience in metals fabrication, including structural welding
- Manufacturing experience involving transmission, distribution, traffic, lighting, communication, and substation products
- Knowledge of state DOT certification requirements
- Experience working with customers and auditing agencies
- Detailed knowledge of AISC, ISO, and DOT requirements
- Six Sigma Green, Black, or Master Black Belt certification
- Advanced experience using Minitab
- Nondestructive testing experience, particularly VT, MT, and UT
