What this role is all about
The Quality Engineer role is included in the development of products from just an idea to a product ready for our customers. Quality Engineers are always thinking about risks and asking themselves what could go wrong with proposed changes to the product – and take/suggest preventive measures so such risks are mitigated. Testing excellence and critical thinking are crucial pillars for this role, along with the ability to communicate issues clearly and objectively.
What you'll do
As a Quality Engineer you will be included in the AgentOS Requirement Area and collaborate with different roles included in the crafting of our products. In the early stages of product development, you will gain insight into planned initiatives and requirements, and will be responsible for providing clear feedback on risks threatening the product and defining a testing strategy. During development, you will continuously work on testing with engineers as the product is forming and provide clear feedback on the implementation and its state.
You will:
Test ideas before starting implementation (point out unclarities in requirements, test the design prototype).
Assess the impact a new requirement (or any change) can have on the current system.
Advocate for testability, reliability, and improvements.
Help shape the team wide strategy around product quality.
Define quality characteristics for the product, identify risks threatening them and design test activities.
Test the implementation, and report objectively on the product and testing state.
Prioritize and report issues with clear “steps to reproduce“ and expected behavior.
Perform analysis of the product from different perspectives, spot repeating issues and propose actions to mitigate them.
Discuss improvements of the products with a clear business/user value proposition.
Closely collaborate with different stakeholders from product, design and development teams.
What makes you a strong fit
You have substantial experience in software testing, both manual and automated, a context-driven mindset, and a great interest in the field.
You can isolate the problem, provide the shortest set of steps to reproduce, and interpret logs.
You are always looking to improve testing practices, development process, and collaboration.
You are a self-driven critical thinker, genuinely curious about how things work, and eager to learn.
You have excellent communication skills, enabling you to express yourself objectively, concisely, and clearly, respecting the escalation process.
You are fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Nice-to-have qualifications
You are not only familiar with the context-driven principles in testing, but you apply them to your work as well.
You are familiar with the risk-based approach and exploratory testing practices.
You completed the Black-box Software Testing (BBST) or another context-driven testing type of training.
You are familiar with API testing, Playwright and Typescript;
Any kind of quality or testing related certifications are nice but not a differentiating factor.
