Quality Engineer

Parsons is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Quality Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining quality assurance and quality control systems on-site to ensure that construction activities comply with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements. You will play a key role in promoting a quality-driven culture across all phases of the project.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Monitoring construction activities to ensure adherence to the approved Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) plans and procedures.
- Conducting inspections, tests, and audits on materials, workmanship, and construction processes to verify compliance with specifications and standards.
- Collaborating with engineering and construction teams to identify and resolve quality issues and non-conformances.
- Reviewing method statements, ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans), material submittals, and construction drawings for quality compliance.
- Preparing detailed inspection and test reports, quality logs, and non-conformance reports (NCRs) as required.
- Coordinating with contractors and subcontractors to ensure quality standards are understood and implemented.
- Supporting the development and implementation of quality management systems (QMS) in alignment with project requirements and international standards (ISO 9001, etc.).
- Participating in internal and external quality audits and following up on corrective and preventive actions.
- Providing training and awareness sessions to project staff on quality-related topics.
- Ensuring proper documentation and traceability of quality records throughout the project lifecycle.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution, subject to approval by the Engineer.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in quality engineering or QA/QC roles, including at least 7 years within the construction or infrastructure sectors in a consulting environment.
- In-depth knowledge of construction materials, methods, testing procedures, and applicable standards (ASTM, BS, ISO, etc.).
- Experience with QA/QC systems, tools, and documentation practices in large-scale projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality-related software tools.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Certification in quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, ASQ Certified Quality Engineer) is preferred.
- Experience working on infrastructure projects such as roads, utilities, drainage, or public works.
- Prior experience working in the Gulf region is highly desirable.
