Job Summary:
Implement and maintain quality assurance standards for products and manufacturing processes. This role is responsible for utilizing core quality tools (FMEA, Control Plans, SPC) to prevent defects, reduce process variation, and support the resolution of internal quality issues.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None. This is a salary exempt entry/junior-level individual contributor role.
- Reports to: Quality Engineering Manager (Guided by QE Lead).
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain key process control documents, including Process Flow Diagrams, FMEAs, and Control Plans.
- Conduct basic process capability studies and utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Participate in APQP teams, assisting with the creation and validation of necessary quality deliverables.
- Lead small-to-medium scale root cause analysis efforts and implement sustainable corrective actions (CARs).
- Work closely with the Quality Control team to establish clear inspection standards and resolve measurement system issues (MSA).

- Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office and function-specific software.
- Strong attention to detail & organizational skills.
- Desire to solve problems and learn new processes.
- Some travel may be required (<5%)
Education and Experience:
- 0-3 years’ experience as a Quality Engineer or similar technical quality role.
- Required Certification: Formal training in core quality tools or methodologies is highly desirable
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to work on your feet on the plant floor for extender periods
- Must be able to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods
- Must be able to perform minor heavy lifting
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant work experience
- Investigate problems and report root cause and corrective actions through the CCL reporting system
- Experience with 8D problem-solving and cross-functional problem-solving teams
- Own quality planning documentation and corrective actions for area of business
- Develop product-specific test plans as part of APQP
- Use Control Plans, PFMEA, procedure writing, and statistical quality control
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing concepts and Lean Six Sigma tools and analyses
- Perform material testing and diagnosis/recommendations for purchased products
- Provide customer-requested documentation of claim details and handle customer deductions process
- Regularly audit process and products
