As a Quality Engineer at Infios, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our cloud-native applications. You'll work closely with Software Engineers, Product Managers, and DevOps teams to build quality into every stage of the development lifecycle.
This role focuses on test automation, API validation, microservices testing, and continuous quality practices. You'll help drive a shift-left quality culture while ensuring our solutions scale effectively and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
What a Day in the Life Looks Like
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to review requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria early in the development process.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for UI, API, and backend validation.
- Build and execute automated regression, integration, and end-to-end test suites within CI/CD pipelines.
- Validate RESTful APIs and service interactions across distributed microservices architectures.
- Perform database testing using SQL and NoSQL technologies to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Conduct load, performance, and scalability testing to identify bottlenecks and improve system reliability.
- Troubleshoot quality issues through log analysis, monitoring tools, metrics, and distributed tracing.
- Collaborate with developers to validate services deployed in Kubernetes and cloud-based environments.
- Document, prioritize, and communicate defects with clear reproduction steps and root-cause insights.
- Continuously improve testing strategies, automation coverage, quality processes, and release readiness practices.
What You Bring to the Team
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of experience in Software Quality Engineering, Test Automation, or Software Development in Test (SDET) environments.
- Strong programming skills in one or more modern languages such as C#, Java, Python, or TypeScript.
- Experience building and maintaining automated testing frameworks for web, API, and backend services.
- Hands-on experience testing distributed systems and microservices-based applications.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, integration testing, and service contract validation.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated quality gates into deployment processes.
- Knowledge of containerized and cloud-native environments including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience performing database validation and working with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, collaboration, and communication skills with a passion for continuous improvement.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with modern quality engineering tools and technologies, including API testing (Postman, REST Assured, Pact, WireMock), UI automation (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium), performance testing (JMeter, k6), and cloud-native platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, and GCP.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Git, version control best practices, security testing concepts, and AI-assisted software development practices.
- Demonstrated ability to improve test automation, quality strategy, release readiness, developer productivity, and overall software delivery outcomes.
