About the role

As a Quality Engineer at Westmag, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our drone motors and robotic actuators across the entire product lifecycle. You will own quality systems and processes, drive root cause analysis and corrective actions, and partner closely with design, manufacturing, supply chain, and customer teams to uphold product excellence and customer satisfaction.

What you'll own
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems and processes across production and R&D.
  • Lead root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Define and monitor quality metrics, inspection criteria, and acceptance standards for motors and actuators.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, supply chain, and test engineering to resolve quality and reliability issues.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI), qualification, and certification activities.
  • Manage supplier quality, incoming inspection, and non-conformance processes.
  • Document quality procedures, develop SOPs, and train technicians and operators on quality standards.

RequirementsRequired qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in quality engineering, or a related function, preferably in motor, robotics, or aerospace industries.
  • Experience with quality management systems, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive design and process improvements.
  • Proficient with inspection equipment, measurement tools, statistical analysis, and quality methodologies (e.g., SPC, FMEA, 8D).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience with drone motor or robotic actuator quality and reliability.
  • Knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, or similar quality standards.
  • Experience with supplier quality management and certification activities.

Skills Required
